Chateaux returned as a Platinum Sponsor to The 2013 Greenwich CIO Executive Leadership Summit on October 22, 2013. During the day-long event, the Hyatt Regency Greenwich was filled with over 200 CIOs and IT leaders from diverse industries and companies, participating in highly interactive sessions and learning more about offerings from event sponsors including CA Technologies, Sprint, and Informatica. We also announced a newly formed partnership with fellow event sponsor Canon Information and Imaging Solutions, Inc. (CIIS). More to come on this in a future blog post.

Big Data and analytics, cloud computing, and innovative leadership were central themes throughout the day. Don Tapscott, author and technology advisor, gave a terrific opening keynote on networked intelligence, followed up by Joseph Martin of Sprint discussing the evolution of collaboration in the era of Big Data. The rest of the day was filled with breakout sessions focused on both leadership and technology, including a panel on “Harnessing the Power of Big Data and Analytics,” moderated by Chateaux Senior Business Intelligence Architect, Ken Zimmerman.

Mr. Zimmerman challenged the panel with questions including how businesses can best prepare for a Big Data initiative; how to ensure data is secure within an organization; and how small to medium sized business can utilize big data. Speakers on the panel included: Duncan Craven, VP, Global Credit Analytics, Bank of America; Neil Isford, VP, Smarter Solutions, IBM North America; Michael Madden, General Manager Mainframe Business Unit, CA Technologies; and Anna Ransley, Head of Center of Excellence, Business Intelligence – Americas, Boehringer Ingelheim.

During the session, panelists shared their expertise and advice from their own unique experiences of working with Big Data and data warehousing solutions, stressing that today’s leaders must recognize that users of Business Intelligence are not only technical, and that Big Data has extended the need for analytics to everyone within an organization. For example, Chateaux’s Sales and Marketing Effectiveness offering is focused on enabling one view of the prospect / customer for both marketing and sales departments. As panelist Duncan Craven explained, “You must focus on the customer from end-to-end, at all stages of the buying process. Big data allows you to know everything you need to know about the customer before talking to them, and companies who take advantage of having this knowledge will succeed.”

Overall it was a fantastic event. Chateaux SVP, Resource Services Division, Mark Montanaro, stated, “We look forward to sponsoring many more CIO Summits in the future as well as building our relationship with CIIS.”
