Project Description
The client, a North American auto-manufacturing leader, needed a more efficient BI system to improve data monitoring. They also sought an assessment the perks and pitfalls of the current BI system.
The client had data coming from and going to many different sources and destinations but despite using dashboards, the management team and executives required a more robust and efficient BI system that was reliable and easy to use.
Due to their experience and methodology, Chateaux was chosen to execute the migration to the XI 3.1 platform, as well as build a sophisticated dashboard system.
This migration assessment covered topics ranging from the server operating system, the new security model in place with XI 3.1, and the overall benefits of migrating to BO XI 3.1.
Chateaux’s migration team worked with the client to design and develop a new security model that took advantage of BO XI 3.1’s new object- based security model and met the high standard of security in place with the client.
Chateaux’s migration team worked closely with the stakeholders and the clients’ project team to identify the elements to be migrated. These elements include, but were not limited to, users, groups, reports, universes, and database connections. During this process, the client wanted to improve upon certain reports and universes.
During the migration assessment the client was made aware of new and exciting features. Chateaux’s migration team worked with the client to develop new reports and universes that would improve the clients’ quantifying ability. Also included in this process was the use of high end graphics to use as a backdrop for management and executive level dashboards.
