Project Description
The Dannon Company, a global food supplier and manufacturer specializing in dairy products and beverages, was experiencing poor performance due to disorganized and flawed BI reporting. They sought to determine the best methodology to improve their BI functionalities.
Dannon is a leader in the overall world food industry and widely recognized for the strength of its brands in the businesses of fresh dairy products and beverages. The client’s existing platform was an unsupported version of SAP BusinessObjects V5 . They were experiencing relatively poor performance and lacked the critical Business Intelligence functionalities necessary to be competitive in today’s market. The content of their BI repository itself was amassed with copious instances of incomplete, erroneous, unsupported and often unused documents which clouded their ability to precisely know which—if any—were capable of delivering the information needed to answer questions. User confidence and excitement in the company’s ability to support their needs was at an all-time low. Dannon turned to Chateaux to complete their BusinessObjects migration, including the transfer of existing Desktop Intelligence reports to the new Web Intelligence reporting platform.
Chateaux worked with the client to take the requested migration to an entirely new level. The team first defined and then executed a work methodology which used the project as a vehicle to both identify and achieve areas for improvement. Chateaux also worked with Dannon to develop metrics to be used in measuring the overall success of the project. This process yielded key indicators which were used in adapting project scope to maximize the delivered platform.
The project proved to be a resounding success for Dannon. Chateaux provided them with a clean, streamlined and publicly instantiated platform which was enthusiastically accepted by the corporate community. The collaborative approach to the work process—introduced, by Chateaux, between IS/IT and the business user community, yielded not only a very well-received and defect free solution but, more importantly, forged bonds between the two groups which continue to thrive today.
